St.Pauls, Pictou County

St. Pauls is a is a rural community in Pictou County located on the upper East River. It was named after the Presbyterian Church of St. Paul which was built in 1815.

James Fraser of the disbanded 84th regiment settled a little below St. Paul’s Church about 1784. Angus McQuarrie who possibly settled here about 1791 received a grant of land in 1828. Two other lots here were granted to Duncan Cameron in 1814 a nd to Donald Cameron in 1828.
