White Hill
White Hill is a rural area is located west of the West Branch, East River. The site was granted to Neil McDonald, Andrew and John Marshall in 1792. John Marshall whose family came from Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland first settled the area.

Marshdale area is located along Fox Brook west of Hopewell on the west branch of the East River. The name is largely descriptive.

Trafalgar is a rural community located along Route 374 in the south west corner of Pictou County, close to the borders of both Guysborough County and Halifax County.
