Lansdowne Lake is a small shallow lake, located in Lansdowne Station just west of the Gairloch Road and north of Matheson West Road. It is a popular destination for fishing, with the presence of rainbow trout, brook trout, brown trout, smallmouth bass, and striped bass.
New Lairg is a rural community located on the upper Middle River south of New Gairloch and west of Concord. The area was settled around 1802 by immigrants from Scotland. It is believed to be named after Lairg, a village in Sutherland (Scotland).
