Millbrook is a rural community located south of the Trans-Canada Highway, west of Rocklin. Originally, some of the early settlers visited the area, and trapped a large bear, they then named the place Bear Brook. Donald McKenzie built a mill sometime between 1803 and 1809 which prompted the renaming of Bear Brook to Millbrook.
The 1879 Millbrook Map (Section 10) highlights basic topographic features of the community along with with cadastral data of prominent land owners, locations of buildings and many other details. It also featured the communities of Millbrook, Gairloch, Mount Pleasant, Pleasant Valley, Limerock, and Green Hill.
