Dufferin, Pictou County

Dufferin

Dufferin is a locality located along Dufferin Road in the community of Sundridge, near the head of the Caribou River.  It was named after the Earl of Dufferin, Governor-General of Canada, 1872 to 1878.
At one time, it was a busy area due to being located the rail line of the Canadian National Railways between Pictou and Oxford Junction (the rail has been removed, and now is part of the Trans Canada Trail).
