Blanchard Brook is a small tributary that starts south of Blanchard Road area flows south towards Sunny Brae and empties into the East River.

Blanchard Road
Blanchard Road is located south of Blue Mountain. It is named after Colonel Blanchard of Truro cut the road through Blanchard area to gain access to some of his land.

The 1879 Springville Map is one of the several maps included in the 1879 Historical Atlas of Pictou County. It shows the basic topographic features of the community along with with prominent land owners and locations of buildings. The section 16 map also contains the communities of Bridgeville, Sunny Brae, and Blanchard Road.
