Loch Broom Islet is a small island located at the mouth of the Middle River of Pictou, east of Loch Broom Point and north of the community of Loch Broom.

Loch Broom

Loch Broom is a rural community located directly between the Middle River and the West River. It was first settled by Alexander Cameron (who came on the ship Hector) in 1773 and named for its harbour’s approach resembling Loch Broom in Inverness-shire, Scotland. It is believed that one of the first churches in Pictou County was built here in 1787.

Kirkmount

Kirkmount is a rural community located south east of McLellans Brook. It was so named because of a church that was built here. At one time it was considered to be part of the community of McLellans Mountain.
