Trenton

Trenton

The Town of Trenton has always been known as an industrial center and is located along the east side of the East River, north of the Town of New Glasgow. An early name for the area was Smelt Brook. The Town name was eventually changed to Trenton after Trenton, New Jersey, by Harvey Graham in 1882. Trenton was incorporated as a town in 1911.

Marshville - Pictou County

Marshville

Marshville is a rural coastal community located along Nova Scotia Highway 6 (Sunrise Trail), north west of River John. The name is descriptive. Settlement begun in this area about 1792 by four sons of David Langile. One of them, George, settled at Long Point. Rushtons Beach Provincial Park offers sheltered picnic areas, protected salt marches, board walks, and a beautiful beach with large sandbars at low tide. 

Fox Brook - Pictou County

Fox Brook

Fox Brook is a small rural community located, west of Eureka, and north west of Hopewell. Country music singer George Canyon grew up in Fox Brook. It is also the name of a brook that flows from the Fox Brook area north between the towns of Stellarton and Westville and eventually into the Middle River of Pictou.
