MacDonalds Brook
MacDonalds Brook is a small fresh water stream located in the communities of French River and Woodfield. It starts around the base of McGraths Mountain, then flows north until it meets up with West Branch French River.

East Branch French River
The East Branch French River is a tributary of the French River that flows south through upland interiors near the communities of French River and Broadway, and eventual empties into Merigomish Harbour. Broadway
Broadway is a rural community located along NS Highway 4 between French River and Kenzieville. It may have been so named after a famous street in New York City or because it was located along the main thoroughfare (at the time) between New Glasgow and Antigonish or after a village in England.
