White Hill is a rural area is located east of Rocklin, and west of the West Branch of the East River.
The site was granted to Neil McDonald, Andrew and John Marshall in 1792. John Marshall whose family came from Kirkcudbrightshire, Scotland first settled the area.
Farms and Farmers of Pictou County is a collection of articles written by by R. H. Ward between 1919 and 1922 that showcases some of the many farms and farmers in White Hill during 1914-1922
A school was built here before 1875. A post office was established in 1882, but closed in 1913 and replaced with rural mail delivery.
Today some of the area is still farmed, although most land has now reverted to forest.
