About West Toney River
West Toney River is a freshwater tributary that starts starts flowing in the community of Bigney and flows north through several communities before meeting up with the main Toney River and then into the Northumberland Strait. The river contributes to the larger Toney River watershed, which includes a deep estuary and small harbour at its mouth near the Sunrise Trail.
