Waterside is a rural area is located north of Three Brooks at the mouth of the Caribou River, where it drains into Caribou Harbour.
The name is descriptive, based upon its location.
Settlement begun around 1806 by Donald McLeod, Neil, Roderick, Kenneth and Alexander McKenzie who came from Scotland. In 1829 a large
tract of land was granted to John Liddell and Charles Boggs, the former in lieu of lands in Hants County taken over
Population in 1956 was 91.

Waterside Beach Provincial Park, provides protection to salt marsh natural habitat, and boardwalk access to a beautiful long sandy beach. Park amenities include boardwalks, garbage bins, a change house and vault toilets.
