Three Brooks is a rural community located south of Waterside along the west side of Caribou Harbour. The place name was prompted by prominent natural features.
Land was granted to Mrs. Jane Cochrane of Halifax in 1809, the trustees of Philip Marchington in 1811, and Thomas Mooring, Laughlin Campbell and Thomas Harris in 1815.
A new school was built in 1885. Another new school was later built in 1952.
Population in 1956 was 146.
