Scotch Hill - Pictou County

The community of Scotch Hill is located west of Browns Point. The place was also once known as Scots Hill and was probably so named because a number of the first settlers were Scottish.

Angus Campbell. William Fraser. Hector McQuarrie and Duncan Cameron were inhabitants in 1798. Charles McDonald and Lauchlan McQuary were here in 1806.

By 1828, 315 people lived in the area.

Population in 1956 was 101.
