Rocklin is a rural community located on the upper Middle River, north of  Union Centre.  A “lyn” is a term for waterfall and possibly the name was probably inspired by a prominent rocky waterfall.

William and Duncan Balfour settled here soon after 1801. Robert and John Mcleod were settled here by June. 1809.

A postal way office was established in July, 1870 with Robert Fraser as postmaster.

Population in 1956 was 80.
