About Powells Point
Powells Point, located in the community of Little Harbour, stands out as one of Pictou County’s underrated gems: a place where you can enjoy warm salt water, stroll through coastal woods, or simply sit at a picnic table and watch the tide roll in.
Powells Point Provincial Park, a day‑use beach park is located here. The shoreline here is beautifully varied: a sandy beach on one side and a rocky coastline on the other, giving visitors two distinct coastal experiences in one stop.

Along the shore of Little Harbour by Marie Cullen, Shirley Aikens, & Margaret Forbes, is a great resource for stories and history of Little Harbour and surroundings area (Anderson Mountain, Black Point, Boat Harbour, Chance Harbour, Kings Head, Little Harbour and Woodburn).
It provides details about many of the families that first settled the area, businesses, industry, hard ships, churches, schools, fire stations, and more. This book is now available to read online.
