Pictou Waterfront Map 1793

Shown above is a map titled “Plan of Pictou Town About 1793″, about 20 years after the landing of the Hector.

According to the British Library, the organization that provided a scan of this rare item, it was included in the book  History of the County of Pictou, Nova Scotia  by George Patterson.

The map depicts an early layout of the Pictou Waterfront, with details including the high water mark, property boundaries, water lots, property owners’ names, and a wharf. It identifies several landowners, including Samuel Copeland, John Patterson, John Dawson, Robert Pagan, and several others.

A note at the bottom credits the Burland-Desbarats Lithographic & Publishing Company, a Montreal-based printing company founded in 1874 that created many books, maps, and periodicals.
