Merigomish Harbour Provincial Park
Merigomish Harbour Provincial Park, located north west of Quarry Island, is a small Provincial Park (about 20 hectares in size) nestled along the shores of Woodburn was designated in 2024.
This protected area encompasses a unique blend of coastal habitats, rich biodiversity, and layered cultural histories. Its sheltered waters, intricate system of islands and tidal channels, and proximity to vibrant communities make it a compelling destination for nature enthusiasts, recreational users, and those interested in the region’s Indigenous and maritime heritage.
There is no road access into this park, however unlike most traditional Provincial parks this is one of the ones that is meant more for protecting Nova Scotia environment.
