Meiklefield, Nova Scotia
Meiklefield is a rural community located east of McPhersons Mills along route 147 (Sherbrooke Road). It was named after early settlers.
James Meikle, a native of Gallowayshire, Scotland, came to Nova Scotia in 1820 and shortly afterwards settled in the this area.
A new school-house was completed at Meikles Settlement in 1881, and in 1883, a post office was established.
