Megumaage, a map of Nova Scotia (Home of the Micmac)
The image above is a historic map of Nova Scotia Showing Micmac names of various places, and other items of interest by Cartographer George T. Bates. It includes themes such as: Mi’kmaq names of the Months and Seasons, names of birds, meanings of some Mi’kmaq Place-names, and First Nations Reserves in Nova Scotia (at the time of printing).
Map does not contain a date, but am assuming it was created sometime during the 1960s based on the pattern of population dates cited.
There is a larger high resolution version that you can scroll around, zoom in and print can be found on the HAGGIS (Hector Archiving Gateway and Genealogical Indexing System) Archival Tool provided online by the McCulloch House Museum in Pictou.
