Meadow Springs - Pictou County

Meadow Springs is a rural area located north of Moose River. The name was prompted by natural features.

In 1837 it was considered to be part of Blue Mountain Settlement. Terrance McCabe received a grant here in 1814 but the land had been surveyed a few years previously and he may have been already settled on it. John Johnson and James Brown received grants in 1815. Johnson was an emigrant from Londonderry, Ireland, in 1800. Kenneth Chisholm purchased his lot at auction in 1835 and received a grant of the land in 1837.
