About Lighthouse Beach Nature Reserve
Lighthouse Beach Nature Reserve is a provincially recognized protected area located at the head of Pictou Harbour, in the community of Pictou Landing. The reserve protects a small but ecologically important section of coastal shoreline, beach habitat, and vegetation, forming part of the broader natural system that surrounds the inner harbour.
Although modest in size, it helps preserves one of the few remaining natural shoreline segments in an area historically shaped by settlement, fishing, and harbour activity.
