About Iron Rock
Iron Rock is a rural locality within the community of Glencoe. It lies within the East River Valley, that consists of a corridor of communities stretching along the East River of Pictou. The valley includes settlements such as Churchville, St.Pauls and Sunny Brae, with Iron Rock nestled among them.
The East River itself has long been a defining feature of the landscape, supporting fishing, farming, and small-scale industry. Places like Iron Rock grew up around the river’s resources, benefiting from fertile land and access to water routes. Anglers frequent its waters for sea-run trout, striped bass, and perch, while the surrounding forests and farmland provide opportunities for hiking, hunting, and rural living
