Huggans Brook MAP

About Huggans Brook, Nova Scotia

Huggans Brook is a small watercourse located in the Community of Merigomish. It originates near the base of Aulds Mountain, flows north through the Piedmont Valley and eventually empties into Huggans Gut.

The Canadian Geographical Names Database (CGNDB) also makes reference to to being formerly known as Hogan Brook, but expect that was due to a typo, as older maps do contain the label Huggans Gut and Huggans Brook.

Like many minor streams in the region, it originates in forested uplands and flows eastward, contributing to the drainage system that eventually connects with coastal waters of the Northumberland Strait.
