About Glencoe Brook
Glencoe Brook is a small natural watercourse in the Pictou County that originates in the uplands around of the community of Glencoe. The brook originates around McPhersons Lake, and flows south through wooded and rugged terrain, eventually emptying into the East River.
Glencoe Brook has been the focus of habitat restoration projects by the Pictou County Rivers Association, which has worked since 1990 to improve fish habitat across the county. Restoration efforts on Glencoe Brook have included digger logs, wing deflectors, rip rap, and cover devices to enhance conditions for trout and other species. These measures highlight the brook’s role in supporting biodiversity and maintaining the health of the East River watershed.
