Eden Lake is located along Route 347 (Sherbrooke Road) south of Garden of Eden.
William McDonald moved into this area in 1830 and named it “Garden of Eden.” The lake became “Eden Lake” and from this, the settlement on the east side got its name prior to 1875.
The earliest grant was made to Lieut. John Dawson in 193 1811. Later grants were made to William Ross in 1840 and to Paul McDonald in 1848.
