Diamond is a rural community located south of Planfield along the headwaters of West Branch River John. Likely the farmers who chose this name considered their district a gem and this settlement was thus named in Diamond 1892.
The land here was granted to John Nevin and James Stewart who came from Renfrewshire Scotland in 1814, James Stewart in 1815. and Alexander
