Dalhousie is a rural community located south of Loganville. The first settlers in this area had some difficulties, and obtained help from the Earl Dalhousie to settle their titles to the land, and then honoured the Earl by naming the location after him in 1819.
Around 1815 to 1817, five members of the Roe family :and John Adamson settled here
A school-house was built at in 1879, and a newer school built in 1929.
A postal way office was established in 1865.
