College Grant is a small rural community located next to the Pictou County and Colchester County boundary line, and west of East Branch along College Grant Road.
Most of the area is underlain by calcareous siltstone, mudstone, and shale of the Silurian Arisaig Group that was intruded by gabbro, and to the south of College Grant is the Chedabucto Fault. – Nova Scotia Department of Energy and Mines
