About Amet Sound
A sound is a relatively narrow passage of water that connects two larger bodies of water, such as an ocean and a sea, or connects an inland sea with another body of water.
Amet Sound is an inlet of the Northumberland Strait, that connects with John Bay, and the communities of Marshville and Cape John. It crosses the county boundary so is also located in Colchester County.
On 1777 Northumberland Strait Map the this area is labeled as Frederick Bay.
