1850 Abercrombie Point Map

This hand drawn map created in 1850 of Abercrombie point shows the various boundaries of land grants (some with areas included) and the person that lot was granted to. Written in lower left corner is “Surveyor Generals office October 11, 1850”.

The spatial extent includes the area between the East River and Middle River and is created with South pointing to the top of the map (unlike most traditionally maps that have north up). Thus, as you view the map you are actually situated around where the current Pictou Causeway is located, and looking towards the Town of New Glasgow, at the region that now makes up Abercrombie, Granton, and Mount William.
